Township Board Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 8:00 PM at the Munson Town Hall located at 23857 County Road 23, Richmond. If a federal holiday falls on the third Monday, the meeting will be held on the third Tuesday of the month at 8:00 PM. If you would like to address the board on an issue, please call the clerk at 597-3068, or email firstname.lastname@example.org, to be placed on the agenda.

Munson Township Notice
Due to the Peacetime Emergency declared by Governor Walz under Minnesota Statutes Chapter 12, the Health Pandemic that is COVID-19 as labeled by the Center for Disease Control, and the stay-at-home order as declared by Minnesota Executive Order 20-20, the following meeting shall be conducted entirely through teleconferencing. If the public wishes to participate in the Monthly Town Board Meeting on April 20, 2020 @ 8 PM the public should submit by email or voice-mail in advance or provide comments during the conference call. Munson Township lies in the south-central part of the county, and has an area of 23,040 acres. The surface is chiefly rolling prairie, but the meandering Sauk River adds a number of small lakes and some larger bodies of water, namely Big Lake and the Horseshoe Chain of Lakes.
According to the United Census Bureau, Munson Township has a total of 37.6 square miles, or which 34.6 square miles of it is land and 3.0 square miles of it is water. The elevation is 1,089 ft.
According to the 2010 census, there was a population of 1466 individuals living in Munson Township, comprising 563 households residing in the township.
Driving through the township you will find a number of hobby farms with horses, small farm animals, plus elk and buffalo farms too. You will also see the traditional mix of full-time farmers and some residents who enjoy living on lakeshore.
